Bonus Worlds Episode of. It's Zebra effective. I'm your host, Steve. With me is Bobby. Hey. I didn't know we were gonna do introductions. So. Yu-Gi-Oh we're recording at night. At night. At night. I'm so tired. Austin. Also here. Hey, look, I'm so sad I Goldin be there. I watched the in person one. It looked like a lot of fun. It sounded like a lot of fun. But I'm happy to talk about the stuff that was announced. So welcome. Hi. Yu-Gi-Oh this is a good perspective. I was in the stadium, Bobby was outside the stadium and Austin was at the stadium. I wasn't even there. Perfect. It works perfectly. Perspective. We had limited studio time in the studio I rented and maybe we'll save this for a future conversation of all the issues with that specific studio. I tried to put out the best podcast I could on Monday. So if it sounded normal, good. If it didn't, I'm sorry. I tried my best to make it sound normal in the time allotment I had that weekend. Obviously we recorded early. We recorded on Saturday night to in case there was any issues with the podcast. And there were good forethought, I guess. But no late fee. No late fee. Yu-Gi-Oh that's true. We didn't get a late fee. Right. I kind of knew that there probably wasn't going to be anything too big to announce if anyone was asking me where Worlds was going to be or what I thought I was telling people. Singapore for the last couple weeks. And that's what it is. Let me. Let me lay out this episode. We are pretty much only going to talk about the announcements that happened. That's it. That's that. That's the bonus. The. There it is. You guys are getting a bonus episode this week. Normally the bonuses are paid walled. So to keep with tradition, we will have a paywalled segment of this episode. About 30 minutes of just covering the. The news here. And then if you want some behind the Scenes of Pokemon XP worlds. Some other thoughts that will be over on Patreon patreon.com pkmncast if you want some more behind the scenes of the weekend. If you're an Apple podcast, you can like upgrade to the premium feed on Apple in the Apple podcast app if you use that app. So that. That's the plan. Hopefully you guys enjoyed the, the bonus, this bonus for the week to cover all of that. And I guess let's just dive right into things. 2027 Pokemon World Championships will journey to Singapore next year. I'm reading this off the, just the Pokemon press release. It will take place at the Singapore Expo, which is the only stadium Singapore has, so it has to be there. There's no, there's no other expo hall in all of Singapore. They could have built one. Yu-Gi-Oh Like the Olympics. Olympics, Yu-Gi-Oh Let's just build one. I think to me that wasn't a surprise. I think to some people it was a surprise. For those that weren't out worlds, there was for some reason the entire weekend there was a rumor going around that it was going to be in Mexico City. And I was like, I don't know where this rumor came from, but what somebody there must have just said it and people heard it. Okay, cool. Yu-Gi-Oh Well, there was the, the rumor that started at a card party that it was going to be San Francisco for several more years. San Francisco, the neighborhood of San Francisco in Singapore, of course, is what I thought. I believe it. A couple months ago I did kind of lean that it was going to be at the. Was that called the Excel center in London. And then information kind of changed and then I leaned more for like, okay, maybe Europe is out and it will be actually Singapore. I know people are saying like Indonesia, I don't think Jakarta or what's the other popular place in Indonesia? I know Jakarta is like the biggest city in Indonesia where everyone go. The beach where everyone goes. Bali. Bali. Bali. Okay. I don't think anywhere. You mean Bali? Yu-Gi-Oh Pokemon World Championships in Bali. It would be probably Jakarta, but I don't think anywhere in Indonesia can like support that. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean, you've been there. I have not, but. Oh Yu-Gi-Oh they don't even have sidewalks. Yu-Gi-Oh Like you like walk out of the mall and then you just either get on a motorcycle or get in car and take you to the next place. Like they, to be fair, barely felt like there were sidewalks in San Francisco sometimes. Yu-Gi-Oh that's true. The, the actual takeaway from this announcement is I don't know if you Noticed this Austin and I think people were too excited at least around me in the theater. But they just said Pokemon World Championships. There is no mention no Sepia, no xp. Yep. And I completely forgot when they announced XP in the fine details they said select locations. Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Bobby and I were at xp. Obviously we got back from xp. I feel like I, I haven't breathed since coming back from, from worlds slash XP. But the scale that XP was 50,000 people. That's been confirmed. Whereas the last Worlds I think was like what, 30, 30,000 ish in Anaheim. I have to verify that number. But a lot more people and I think it would be very hard at that scale to do XP every year. Sure. I don't think because like the PIN rally did poorly. They last minute canceled xp. We know, we knew that. We knew that San Francisco was the 2026 location before the Hawaii World Championship even started. That was more than two years. Well, no one knew Anaheim. Anaheim was the secret. So it was like before Hawaii, we knew San Francisco, we went into Hawaii, we got the Anaheim announcement and then we got the San Francisco announcement. So obviously Singapore has been cooking for a while. Yu-Gi-Oh probably at least two years. So. Yu-Gi-Oh I think they knew all along that I, I personally think now that we did this that XP was important to line up with the 30th anniversary. Yu-Gi-Oh That they weren't going to do it the following year because they were going to take all the things they learned from here and figure it out for next time. So I don't, I'm curious if XP is every other year, every five years, every three years, every year that a big corporation decides to give them a boatload of money like Lego. Lego had the biggest booth. Yu-Gi-Oh So do you think that there one-of-one be Lego, Crocs, Funco, all those companies at Worlds next year? Because that was more of the like XP part and more of the convention. I think just because there's no XP next year doesn't mean it's just tournaments even. Right. Even if I go back all the way to 2019, right before COVID 19 for the D.C. worlds, you could watch Detective Pikachu. They still had a Pokemon Center. They still had a Pokemon Go scavenger hunt. They still had side like they had so much and Yu-Gi-Oh but, and that one, I was like saying people should go to these. Yu-Gi-Oh but those are all Pokemon specific things. Like there, this is like Lego. I mean yes, it's all Pokemon related, but these are owned by Pokemon. Right. These are other companies that were bringing their stuff in as exhibits and as experiences. I think Pokemon will take their money. Yu-Gi-Oh well, because, like, think about last year. They had the. My gosh. What even was it called? There was that one booth. There was a booth there that wasn't owned by Pokemon. Not psa, but they did have psa. Here's a good one. PSA was there. Here's a good one. They had Build a Bear last year, and they had Build a Bear this year. There you go. There you go. And there was one really awkward moment where I was walking through streaming and one of the Build A Bear employees was. Because the crowd around Build A Bear was so massive, they yelled, we're out of Sylveons. No Sylveons. And then people started, like, leaving the line because they were. Because that's what they wanted, and they just wanted the Sylveon. I guess they don't have Sylveons anymore. Guys. I think. I think there will still be a lot to do, right? For sure. Yes. Like, for sure. But then what is xp? Is the question bigger? That's what I'm saying. Like, in what way is XP any different than what we saw last year? Is it just a marketing term? Is it just their way of. Like, we did have the separation. Right. So we did have. Like you walked into the left building and you went in. That was the Pokemon XP side, and you walked into the right building, and that was the World Championship side. But at the end of the day, once you went downstairs, they were connected with a tunnel. Yu-Gi-Oh Like, it was just one side and the other. Versus last year. It was kind of the same way. It's just the World Championship. Like, the tournament was just happening in one section of the convention center, and then the other stuff that wasn't the tournament was just happening in a different section of the convention center. It's just that in that way, it didn't feel a whole lot different than last year. Yu-Gi-Oh I would. I would honestly say it just felt like a bigger version of last year. Yu-Gi-Oh And they had 50,000 people. And if. If the way. And obviously people wanted to go. Right. We have tons of people in the slack and in the. In the discord. People on social media that you saw that would have wanted to come to this. Yu-Gi-Oh So if it's just a marketing thing of a Pokemon convention that worked. It worked. It did its thing. Yu-Gi-Oh totally. It absolutely worked. And real. Just. Just for quick follow up, here it was. Ktla, which is a news station in Los Angeles, reported that it was more than 30,000 people that attended last year's Worlds. So I'm assuming under 40,000. Right. They would have said more than 40 if it was above 40. So. Yu-Gi-Oh So way more people at this year's event than last year. Yu-Gi-Oh So. Oh, go ahead, Austin. I wasn't there, but this is going back to the. What is XP versus Worlds. It. I wasn't there but it seemed like there was a lot more to do outside and a lot more decorations. Like the char. Like there was. That Charizard bridge thing was sick. Right? Oh, that was. I don't know what that was. The entrance. I don't know what it looked like when we were there. Right. But Yu-Gi-Oh it looked like what you saw. Yu-Gi-Oh But Yu-Gi-Oh there was a lot outside as well. That's true. There. It was a nice. I didn't really think about the fact that like there was so much happening outside as well. We had live band the whole weekend or the parade. At some point they had the parade happening outside. Like that stuff feels like XP to me. And Yu-Gi-Oh Worlds. That's true. I didn't think about the fact that there was like the outside and the inside stuff together. The DJ show. Right. Like just stuff like that. I think the makeup spot, like there was a. There was a lot that was outside as well. Yu-Gi-Oh I think by default of it being in Singapore and for most people that is probably a 14 to 20 hour flight from the US depending on where in the US you are. Maybe there's. I think the only way direct would be like out of California, maybe Texas would be direct, but it would probably be 14 to 16 hours. Too many hours. Too many hours in a steel tube. But. But regardless, I think if you wanted to go to Singapore, I think it would be probably pretty easy for you to get tickets. And I'm being like genuine with that. Yu-Gi-Oh But it wouldn't be xp. It would probably be. Probably be closer in my mind to Anaheim or to Hawaii or to Yokohama. Was like a weird exception because that was in Japan and that. That felt like the whole city of Yokohama. Yu-Gi-Oh Or like London and I again, I think all of those were worth going to. Even if you weren't competing or even if you didn't care about. Speaking of games, do the. I wanted to do Unite because I was like, I'm pretty sure they're just going to announce like three new characters for Unite. I'm not seeing it on this press release. What was. It was like four new characters. Four new characters. You were wrong. I know I was wrong. I said three, they said four they must be listening to the podcast they announced. Morpeko, Toxtricity, Jolteon and Flareon were announced as playable characters coming to Unite. Stay tuned for updates of their unique moves. For more information, Please visit Pokemon unite.pokemon.com and they didn't even announce that, like, at the closing ceremonies. They announced that, like, aft during the Unite, like, stuff that's weird. Yu-Gi-Oh We saw for Unite, it was Zeta Division 1, and then Kome, which was an Yu-Gi-Oh team, came in second. Unite will no longer be at Worlds. It will be, but it will be at the Japanese Championship series, which is the biggest tournament in Japan. So they'll have their finals there. I still think this is like a Visa thing and not like a Unite is going to shut down suddenly kind of thing. Yu-Gi-Oh But again, for what? How old is Unite? Five years. Yu-Gi-Oh And for five years, I've said, like, even if Unite flopped in America, it's still popular in Asia. Yu-Gi-Oh it'll do fine. Yu-Gi-Oh it'll be. It'll be fine for sure. For the Pokemon TCG Beckett beginning October, players will be able to expand their card collection. They're saying, in the global, globally popular Pokemon TCG Beckett app. That's their words, not mine. With the introduction of Dual type Pokemon. More information at a later date. They show Mega Mewtwo Ex, which is both psychic and fighting type. Which is cool. Yu-Gi-Oh very cool. Yu-Gi-Oh It's interesting how they like. Because remember how, like, a while back in the tcg, they had the cards where it, like, it cut in half kind of, and it showed their two different Topps but they were still only one type. Right? They weren't. Yu-Gi-Oh In the TCG they had. There was a few of them and they were always. There was a bunch of them that were shiny Pokemon too. Yu-Gi-Oh I think the Zuroll is one of the Zuma roll, which is like Fairy water. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh And this looks like the cards look like that, except that they are also dual type. They have. Yu-Gi-Oh they, like, are legit. Two Topps It has a psychic and a fighting energy at the top right corner for its type. Yu-Gi-Oh Cool. I also see a Fuecoco EX here, by the way. Yu-Gi-Oh Fuecoco EX are coming. Yu-Gi-Oh So we're just gonna go with Ex cards that aren't final evolutions anymore. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean, Yu-Gi-Oh whatever. They one-of-one be able to evolve because you can't evolve Piplup EX into prinplup unless it's a Prinplup ex. That's what's next. Yu-Gi-Oh it's gonna be Prinplup break and put it sideways on top. They don't ever need to. They can. No, no. They can leave those. They don't need those back. This podcast is brought to you by Mint Mobile. When we were kids, summer meant freedom. The Pokemon TCG unveiled powerful new cards such as Mega Lucario ex, marking the debut of Z Mega Evolution in the iconic game. Their words, not mine. More Mega Attack rare cards are coming soon to the Pokemon tcg, including Mega Rayquaza ex, Mega Darkrai ex, Mega Greninja EX and Mega Zygarde ex. In addition, fans were treated to an exciting appearance from the legendary Pokemon Raiko Entei and Suicune. Coming soon to the TC with the newly revealed Ex Star. I think that's what they're called. Ex Star series. Yu-Gi-Oh it seems like what they're going to call it more Details to be shared in the future. I was excited until I found out they weren't like the gold stars and they're not even shiny. Right. It. I assumed when I. That's what I thought. Star. Yu-Gi-Oh I was like, oh, cool. Immediately went back to gold star was what I thought of. But because, like, what does the star signify then? I guess probably just, like, some gameplay mechanic, I'm sure. Extra. Is it not going to be like, you can only have one star? Ex Star. I'm sure. Yu-Gi-Oh Because to me, it sounded like Amazing Rares. Although, could you have more than one Amazing Rare in your dec. Deck? I don't remember. That rules. You could. It was Radiant. You could only have one Radiant. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh So, like, Radiant Greninja was popular. What was the other one with the diamond that they look like magic. Oh, that was sun and Moon Prizm Right. Because you only have one Prizm card in your deck. You only have one aspect Trainer in your deck. Yu-Gi-Oh it's probably going to be just one of those, but I wish they were shiny. But you could have two top halfs of HO Legends, and then you could Pokemon Communication for one half and then. And put down both Legends cards and then Ho. Oh, Lugia Legend was really bad. No, when. When. When they showed that trailer, there were so many instances where, like. Well, I think there was only one instance where there were two Pokemon together. And I was like, oh, they're doing tag team. They're bringing tag team back. And then it was like, no, it's just the attack. It's just the ex. Like, attack ones or whatever. But, Yu-Gi-Oh Ex Star could be. I mean, I don't know. I guess we'll see what these cards do. But I. I kind of like the Amazing Rare Radiant kind of stuff. I feel like, again, this is. This is some coming from somebody who's been organizing their Pokemon cards for, like, the last two weeks and looking at what cards I want. But I feel like the fun in that is like, oh, I could just collect these. Yu-Gi-Oh for sure. I don't have to break down master set. I could just collect the Amazing Rares or the Radiance or the. I do have all the Amazing Rares. That set is complete. I'm missing one. You're missing one? What you missing? I don't know. Whatever. It's like Entei or something. I don't know. Tom Brady. If you got the Entei. There's no Entei. Amazing Rare. That's what, in my heart I'm missing the Entei. There's a Ryko. There is. Oh, I think I'm missing the Ryko. Okay. The Raiko's good. I think I have an extra one. I can send it to you. I'll have to look. I'll go to Tom Brady for that. We did go to first. Sidetrack, sidetrack, sidetrack. We did go to a Tom Brady after the Giants games. We did go to a Tom Brady store after. And he plays a mean game of ball here in San Francisco, too. Way to go. He sure did. Although we were in the Tom Brady store, a person behind us just Tribute their drink. It went everywhere. And then they immediately left. They didn't, like, do anything. They didn't, like, ask, or. They just Tribute their drink. And then I missed this completely. Miss this? Yu-Gi-Oh What? I think it was when I went back in to get my price. They, like, rang me up wrong. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh They, like, charged me, like, $10 too much for a car. It said 50 on the thing, and they charged me 60. I went in, they, like, refunded me, and then they gave me, like, five extra dollars off for the mistake. It wasn't that big of a deal. Which is an honest mistake. It was an honest mistake. But it was so funny that it was a $50 card. They rang you up and they were like, okay, your total $65. And you were like, Yu-Gi-Oh taxes are really expensive in California. And, like, we all were just like, Yu-Gi-Oh it is. And none of us realized that, like, tax shouldn't be $15 on a $50 card. Like, that's wild. Y' all just let it go. You're like, Yu-Gi-Oh it's fine. It wasn't until we walked out that you were like, wait, they charged me 60 for this, not 50? Yu-Gi-Oh no, they gave me my $10 back. And then they were like, Zebra sorry. Here's like, another. We'll just credit you an extra five. And I was like, oh, Yu-Gi-Oh that's fine. Whatever. Cool. Yu-Gi-Oh Nice. Good deal from Tom Brady. He knows I'm a repeat customer. That must be what it was. Yu-Gi-Oh they must have saw my account. But, like, this guy keeps buying $50 PSA 10s every week. I don't know when they announced this. Some at some time on the last day, I don't know when, but they announced that the Lego deal will go into 2027. Did the. Who's that? Pokemon. The only one I like, recognized right away was, like, manky. And I think there's, like, a Pichu coming. Maybe a Wingle. Mm. I could be into the Wingo one. They. Did they ever announce it? I mean, I saw, like, the. They did, like, an Instagram reel of it. I think they ran a trailer on Pokemon xp, and then they ran a trailer inside the Chase Stadium. They were, like, running ads in between. Okay. Oh, this press release tells us how many pieces the Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise were. Oh, like the big ones. The big ones were. Were more than393,000 LEGO bricks weighing approximately 2,000 pounds, and it took 77 days to complete. Oh, my gosh, that's cool. Those things were awesome. How many times do you think they were building it and they put a block in the wrong spot but didn't realize, like, an hour later? Well, they were master builders, Austin, so. So you don't think they made any mistakes? Come on. Hello. Master builders are perfect. I'm a master builder. They're like the Wolfie Glick of LEGO builders. Yu-Gi-Oh they were cool. I got yelled at by them. I didn't really get, like, get yelled at. You did like, a. And last minute, Papa Pikachu was like, we want to. We want you all to do this LEGO experience. It's. It's. It's at 8am you have to be, like, in the hotel lobby at, like, 7:30. We have, like a. We have to get you there by eight, which is. It's like, literally across the street. So we get there, and then there's, like, three experiences. Part of the LEGO booth. It was like, build a trophy, get a picture with these giant legos, and then do the smart brick stuff, which took the longest. Yu-Gi-Oh And because our started right at 8, they also started letting the normal. The. The normies in. We built the trophies. And then as we were waiting for the smart bricks, they were like, okay, this is where we'll take the pictures. And then I was like. I was, like, always last in line in the group. I don't know why, because I'm gonna elbow the other creators to get, like, more in the line? Like, I'm just very passive. You gotta fight. And there was, like. There was, like, three of us. And then they were like, okay, we don't have time for this anymore. We'll come back later. We gotta go to the next thing. Okay, I guess that's fine. We'll come back. And then we never came back. So I never got a picture. Bad, because by the time we, like, put our, like, mewtwo to sleep after we fed it the sandwiches, this is a real thing that happened. There was a huge line in front of the giant Legos. And I wasn't. I didn't want to, like, cut the. The normies. Sure. Yu-Gi-Oh There were lines everywhere, which gave to the, like, convention feel. Literally everything had a line. It was. That's not a good thing. It was a little off putting because it was like, oh, I'd like to go see that. Oh, there's a line that wraps around it like, twice. I don't want to wait for an hour to see whatever it was. You know, there was like some cool stuff. There was like a museum and it was like, oh, I'd love to see that, but I'm not. I don't one-of-one I also don't want to wait for an hour and a half. Like, I only got so much time here. Right? Like, I don't. I'm not trying to wait in lines all day. Yu-Gi-Oh you had plenty of time. They canceled the pen rally. You had plenty of time to do stuff. They did cancel the pen rally. We had Kelly and Caillou on our show earlier this week, But Kelly is a seasoned Comic Con veteran. She goes to San Diego Comic Con every year, and she said the lines were not nearly as bad as anything at Comic Con. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean, Comic Con has, like, panels though, you know, where they have, like, celebrities and, like, revealing the new movies and things like that. Stage Steve had a meet and greet. Come on now. I'm not saying that, like, there weren't things like that at Pokemon xp. I'm just saying that, like, you know, lines were wrapped around the room for, like, to. To look at pictures of a thing or to look at, like, a jacket. But also, Comic Con isn't just one brand. There's a lot going on there where this is just Pokemon, which is a lot, but one, but, you know, the other Pokemon. But Comic Con attracts so many more, you know, different Topps of people, right? Yes, yes. More scalpers, surprisingly. Okay, wait, what do we not cover in the press release? The other. The other big. Oh. Z. Z Evolutions debuting in Champions. Pokemon that can undergo Z Mega Evolution will make their debut on September 9th alongside with other Pokemon. Mega Lucario Z Mega Garchomp Z and Mega Absol Z will be appearing in addition to Backcalibir and Rillaboom. I don't know why Mega Back Caliber is coming. They're not holding the stone back. They said six Megas are coming, so that was. I named three Backscaliber four Mega Glycopod is five. They did confirm that is coming. And then Mega Salamance is coming. So that's six. Finally. Finally. So they said 26. 26 Pokemon are being added. Six of them are the Megas I just named. Rillaboom is the one out that is coming, but is not a Mega. They are scared to release Don Dozo and Mega Tasaguri. They were like, really putting that off. Yu-Gi-Oh So we don't still have Mega Tasaguri. There's obviously a bunch of legends. They teased Mega Heatran in the. In the trailer. Although I do think there will probably be another season after this before they. They have to do Tasagiri and Dondozo before they start doing Megas. Right. Or sorry, Legendaries. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Makes sense. The. The Z does nothing in Champions, which isn't like in Za. The. The gimmick they said were like Z Pokemon would use Mega energy faster, but they're. They are faster and they hit harder. Yu-Gi-Oh So in this, in the sense of like Megas, if you're thinking about them, why Megas are special attackers. X Megas are physical attackers. And I guess Z Megas are fast. Fast. Sure. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh So if that's how you want to think about them, I think that's the easiest way to break them down in your head. Yu-Gi-Oh Although they gave Mega Absolute sharpness. So it'll be fast and also hit very hard. Right? Fine. Yu-Gi-Oh it's. It's fine. Like. Like, like obviously these would come and obviously these would come before Legendaries. Like, this all makes sense. Yu-Gi-Oh Like, there was also a rumor going around at Pokemon XP that like Z Moves were coming. And I was like, what? Haven't even released. Someone just crossed like Mega Z's with the Z with Z Moves. Yu-Gi-Oh they just. Yu-Gi-Oh I was like, they haven't even played put Golisopod in the game. Why do you think Z Moves are coming? They're gonna milk this as long as possible, right? Like, sure. Oh, for sure. We're get. We're getting like one Za out. We're not even getting. We're getting like one outfit every two months in the game. Yu-Gi-Oh Tied to a bad battle pass. They're definitely milking the mechanics. They're milking it, but they're. They're gonna take too long, though, I think is the problem. They're gonna. They're just gonna drip feed, like too much, I think. Right. And this, this, this is a whole nother conversation of like, when we get to Winds and Waves and there will be a new mechanic, is Winds and Waves going to have a competitive thing to take advantage of that new Mechanic or is Ilka gonna drip feed that new mechanic in Champions? We'll get the winds and wave mechanic in 2032. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh I don't know. Okay. The last non competitive thing because the to no one surprise. Well, I don't know. If you listen to our show, you shouldn't have been surprised that there was no winds and waves news. I feel like if the thing we do on YouTube and Apple Podcasts and Spotify or wherever you listen to this podcast, I feel like the one thing we do that other people don't do is try to give level headed predictions. They're just gonna say try, try. We try. And I didn't think take that. Go cast. Take that. Chris and Kyle. No, I love them. And for you know, there was a million things like winds and waves or Ruby and Zebra and emerald were coming and this and that. And the worlds is primarily competitive focus. And I think people are like, well we got Scarlet and Violet news that one year, which is true when we were in Yokohama there was Scarlet and Violet DLC news. But when they showed that, they showed what the DLC was bringing to competitive. They showed cycles are. They showed shed skin, they showed returning Pokemon. Like there was a reason for that. But the, I guess the, the wild card, no pun intended, the non competitive news that they showed was Pokemon Wild Card. An all new feature length animated movie announced for the beginning. Beginning of 2027. First movie released in years. It's seven years for the record. Yu-Gi-Oh The story follows an aspiring Pokemon trading card game player and Mimikyu, the disguised Pokemon in production with Story Cloverworks, one of Japan's top animation studios. Trainers can look forward to this animated film adventure coming soon. So it. The. The title here, the headline is that the animated movie announced for release beginning in 2027. So it makes it sound like there's going to be waves of release. I'm guessing the Jap. The Japan one's gonna be released in the beginning of 2027 and then the English one later, like worldwide. Why does it, why does it say the release is beginning in 2027? Like that's saying it's the start of a release. Right? It's beginning in 2027. So like that makes it seem like it's a. It's like releasing in waves. I could see Japan and English coming same time and then like Korean, Portuguese coming later. I could see those coming later. Yu-Gi-Oh maybe, maybe. But I do think there'll be a waves of it. It one-of-one be. I don't think it'll Be like worldwide release in every language happening at the same time. Just based on that. Just based on that headline. That was a good catch. Yu-Gi-Oh I. I think this is really exciting. Oh, me too. I think out of everything, this is what I was the most excited about. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh This seemed really cool. Mega Garchom Z with levitate. Completely useless ability wasn't top of the list. Oh, no, I can't. Earth power. The other Garchomp sitting across from me. Yu-Gi-Oh who cares? We got a Mimikyu movie. Yu-Gi-Oh No, it's. It's sick. It looks. It looks. It looks neat. It looks really good. The. I'm pretty sure the same people that made Spy Family for either you're familiar with that is who's making this one. Do you think. Do you think they're going to keep the Japanese backs for all the versions of the movie, or do you think they're going to swap them out? There's no way they swap them, right? No, they're not going to swap them. But do you know, for the. So I looked this up. There was a. This will be our last thing before we take. We. We go to the. Wait, we got one more thing after this. Okay. And then we. Then we will paywall you all after that. Yes. Yu-Gi-Oh For the 24 movie box collection that Viz Media announced that's like exclusive to Amazon. It's like 400 dol. We'll talk about it more maybe on this week's podcast. But two of those 24 movies are the black and white movie. One is Zekrom and Victini, and the other is Reshiram and Victini, and they're like literally the same movie, except the Legendary is different. And, like, they swap out. They're Dragon and Golurg. It's like there's another one. It's like the beginning of one movie. There's like Bouffalant running, and then the beginning of the other movie, there's like Zev Striker running. It's just like the movie is exactly the same. Okay. Maybe they would switch it then. So. Yu-Gi-Oh that's all. I just think maybe they. Maybe they would switch the back of the cards. Okay, what was the last thing, Bobby, before we. We go to the last thing, which was probably second highest on my list of of favorite things to hear, is that Armored Mewtwo is returning. Oh, my gosh. Yu-Gi-Oh I was. This weekend. Yu-Gi-Oh So it is on here. It's somewhere on here. It's buried. I saw it somewhere on here and now I've lost it. But basically oh, here it is. I found it. I found it. I found it. Okay, so Armored Mewtwo is making its return this weekend. The September 5th and 6th during the finale. The Go Fest finale, essentially. So Armored Mewtwo will not be shiny. So don't go and try to shiny hunt it. But again, the last time we had Armored Mewtwo was like six or seven years ago. Six. Six years ago. Right. So. So I'm just happy that's back. I'm down. I'm down to go out and raid for a few of them. Yu-Gi-Oh that's cool. I forgot Mega finale was this weekend. I was like, oh, I'll have a weekend off after world. No weekend's off. No. Pikachu runs a tight ship over here. They do. No break. No break. All gas. Yu-Gi-Oh Mega B2 coming back. I'm actually really surprised about this. I thought that because they loved their anniversaries, the. I mean, I guess this could still happen, right? So this. They went out of their way to say it can't be shiny, which makes me think they will turn it shiny because they like to press the Mewtwo button. The Me Too button makes them money. Yu-Gi-Oh But we are a year and a half away from the 30th anniversary of that movie. So if there was ever a time for Mega Mewtwo, or, sorry, Armored Mewtwo to come back, it would be because the anniversary of that movie. Because the movie is two years after the year of when Pokemon 30th anniversary is. Yu-Gi-Oh I agree with that. Although I do think that they were very forward about it not being shiny. To not make people go out and shiny hunt it and not have confirmation. And. And because like typically when they bring, when they bring something back, right. When they bring out a legendary for a raid and then they bring it back later, it's shiny the next time that it comes out. Yu-Gi-Oh And so I think they're just being very like, don't go shiny. Hunt this thing. Like there you're not going to find a shiny one. You know, don't come complaining to us when you do 50 of them and don't get a shiny. I'm curious. I am a little surprised this is coming back though. It sort of seemed like it was a one off and I wasn't ever expecting it to return. Like the clo. Like the clone Pokemon. I don't think they'll never be back, I assumed. But that's what I thought about the armored 30th anniversary of the movie. I guess. So I Don't know. Yu-Gi-Oh I would love to see the clone Pokemon come back. So, Yu-Gi-Oh this surprised me, but in a good way. I know, I know hardcore Pokemon Go fans wanted this because it was something they missed out on. I wonder how casuals feel about this. Like, do they care as much? It's like, hard to gauge interest because you can't go to like the Silverado or something because those are just hardcore people. Right? Like, I mean, I think people like Mewtwo. I mean, the thing about this Mewtwo that I don't. I think some people don't realize is that the stats are different. Oh Yu-Gi-Oh the stats of this Mewtwo, the defense is much higher. Attack is much lower in the armored Mewtwo. So when you're going to like, you know, Hyper Train and Mewtwo, I think technically it's better to just Hyper train. If you wanted to get like 100. Well, we all have 100 Mewtwo now. But if you wanted 100, your Mewtwo, do a regular one if you're gonna use it for like, battles and stuff. More than an armored one, but. Well, you can't mega evolve the armored ones either. Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh So, I mean, so there's that. So, I mean, I don't know, maybe the other thing too is. And they've, They've. They've done this before, so I guess it's not like, special, but they might not want it to be shiny because, like, this is like a character out of a movie. It's like a specific Mewtwo. So may. I don't. Maybe they one-of-one turn it shiny ever because, like, this is the Mewtwo from the movie. So I mean, they got rid of the Minnesota Viking lines from the first movie and they replaced it. They don't know what they're doing over there. They're just pressing buttons at this point. Look, they put Ilka in charge of like three games. They don't know what they're doing. Yu-Gi-Oh maybe. Maybe. All right, we will wrap up here. Hopefully you enjoyed this free episode. If you want to support the show, if you want another 20, 25 minutes.
