What it reads

IDENTITY FIRST. EVERY TIME.

A value is only as good as the card it is attached to. The scanner pins the exact printing before it says a price — because a parallel, a serial number or a retailer-exclusive is a different card entirely.

From Base Set to the newest drop — English sets, the parallels and the secret rares. It tells apart a holo from a reverse holo and a Pokémon Center printing from the standard one, because those are different cards worth different money.
